The "Chorus First" Arrangement. 👇
A standard song usually consists of: Intro ➡️ Verse ➡️ Build ➡️ Chorus.
By the time the hook finally arrives, the modern listener has often scrolled away.
Legendary producer Nile Rodgers (Chic, Daft Punk) famously flipped this script on tracks like David Bowie's "Let's Dance."
He didn't save the best for last. He started the song immediately with the chorus.
This technique focuses on the listener and gives them exactly what they want: the hook.
The "Chorus First" Blueprint:
💥 0:00 - The Hook: State the theme immediately. Grab attention.
📖 0:15 - The Story: Now that you have their attention, pull back into the Verse.
🌉 0:45 - The Bridge: Create tension.
💥 1:00 - The Payoff: Return to the familiar hook.
This strategy prioritizes immediate impact over a slow build.
